Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and can close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home that has a combined gross household income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals nsfas status who are researching or intend to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
